A new league called CIS Rising will begin today with six teams from the region competing for $1,200 in prizes over the next months. The six teams will all be placed in one group where each of them will play one another once using the best-of-three format. Both de_season and de_cache will be added to the usual five map pool. The $1,200 prize purse will be split up among the top three finishers in the group stage. The organizers have not yet decided if separate playoffs will be held, but the $1,200 will be given out based on the group stage.
That means if CIS Rising decides to host playoffs for its league, there will be additional prizes up for grabs already in its inaugural season, but that is not yet confirmed as of writing. Aside from the six teams below who are already confirmed as participants in CIS Rising, the organizers will host an online qualifier on ESL on June 22 with additional spots up for grabs:
Games will begin tonight with ACES playing against USSR. Only one game will be played during each playday, and the schedule will be made before each week after talking to each team's captains. Although no exact schedule for CIS Rising exists, it is expected to end sometime around the end of July. HLTV.org will be providing hot matches and statistics for CIS Rising League. |
